Three things to know about the Quran...
There are three important things that we need to know about the Quran:
Torah came in the written form but Quran is the word of God. It was spoken by Allah ﷻ to Jibreel AS (Archangel Gabriel) who spoke it to the prophet ﷺ who spoke it his companions RA. A word, a speech can never be separated from the speaker. Even today, to benefit from the Quran, we need to listen to it.
All previous divine books were also revealed by Allah ﷻ and came to the prophets of Allah ﷻ, but they did not carry the promise that they will be preserved in all respects. When books like the Torah and the Bible came, they too were in pure form but overtime people made additions and deletions to them. Quran is preserved from all these things with a guarantee from the Almighty Allah ﷻ Himself. Allah ﷻ says in Surah Al-Hijr 15:9,
1. Quran is the word of God
Allah ﷻ says in Surah At-Tawbah 9:6,
And if any one of the polytheists seeks your protection,
then grant him protection so that he may hear the words of Allah. Then
deliver him to his place of safety. That is because they are a people who do
not know.
2. Quran came down from the heavens
Quran came down to our beloved prophet ﷺ. He conveyed it to us as is and did not make any change or addition of even a letter or a vowel sound. Allah ﷻ says in Surah Al-Kahf 18:1,
[All] praise is
[due] to Allah , who has sent down upon His Servant the Book and has not made
therein any deviance.
The word "nazil" is mentioned many times in the Quran which means coming down from above. If the Quran was a human effort, then the word "nazil" would not be applicable.
3. Quran is safe and protected in every sense
Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur'an and indeed, We will be its guardian.
